Gentlemen of the Press,
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is with great honour and sense of responsibility to stand before you this afternoon as the 10th
President of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association Worldwide.
I give all Glory to Almighty Allah for this rare privilege to serve and I seek for His guidance in all our
thoughts and workings.
Let me first appreciate the last National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Working Committee
(NWC) ably led by indefatigable Comrade Olaitan Adesomoju Adesanya, for your steadfastness and
result oriented programs. You have indeed increased the interests of members in building an Alumni
Association of our dreams. I say thank you.
Subsequently, we must take advantage of these gains to build a FAMILY for a brighter future; it is time
we look at ourselves as an individual with different professions in different parts of Nigeria and the
world at large, but with a common bond, that is FUTA.
We must look for one another, we must link-up with one another, and we must connect with one another

This regime will work closely with the University Management and the Advancement Centre in getting
names and details of all graduates of FUTA, processed it and create a robust website or App where
every one of us can relate and exchange information.
Consequently, our data collections and coming together will provide us the needed strength to support
our Alma mater both in the areas of INFRASTRUCTURE, RESEARCH and TECHNOLOGY
Our students must be well oriented and guided to be an Entrepreneur and not a job seeker; we must
look at our curriculum so as to expose our students to more practicals, designs and constructions. The
University should have a policy and encourage same, for our Lecturers to have a factory where students
can be exposed to the rudiments of the theories learnt in the classroom. The Alumni Association body
will also collaborate to have a Technological incubator centre where gifted students can be supported.
We would not relent in our support to the University in providing basic needs and infrastructures either
through individuals, groups, graduating class of any set, and of course in the Diaspora. Permit me to
appreciate our Diaspora family, the group recently donated set of computers to the University and also
class 1995-2000 for their unrelentless support to the University community.
We can not but encouraged the University management to give us their projections in the areas of
infrastructures so that the Alumni body can also have a feel of pressing needs of the University.
Furthermore, Alumni Trust Fund was set up to be a bridge or catalyst for the growth of the University
and we would do more in encouraging members to pay their dues.
Your Excellencies, Distinguished ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you most sincerely for taking your
time to be part of this inauguration and wishes you God’s blessings and journey mercies to your various
Thank you for your attention.

Engr. Adeyemi Bello
President, FUTA Alumni Association Worldwide.
